Statement from Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day on the tragic shooting in Blacksburg, Virginia

Today, the Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety, issued this statement following the tragic shooting incident at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia. “The shock and horror of this act has reverberated throughout Canada. On behalf of the Government of Canada and all Canadians, I wish to offer our sincere and deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the victims of this senseless tragedy and a speedy recovery to all those who were injured.
